Things To Do In An Elevator...

-When people get on, ask for their tickets.
-When there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder and then pretend it wasn't you.
-Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.
-Ask if you can push the button for other people, but push the wrong ones.
-Hold the doors open and say you're waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say, "Hi Mike. How's your day been?"
-When the doors close, menacingly announce that "It's going to be a bumpy ride."
-Constantly bounce a tennis ball.
-Drop a pen and wait until someone reaches to help pick it up, say "that's mine!"
-Stand in the corner reading a telephone book, laughing.
-Take pictures of everyone in the elevator.
-Turn off the lights in the elevator to "conserve energy."
-Leave a box in the corner, and when someone gets on ask them if they hear something ticking.
-When the doors close, announce to the others, "It's okay. Don't panic, they open up again."
-Push your floor button with your nose.
-Stand alone, and when the doors open tell people trying to get on that the car is full and that they should wait for the next one.
-Swat at flies that don't exist.Talk to people about the "golden age of elevators in the 50's."

Random Picture from these past few days... (It's been beautiful!)

Sunday

Well, school is in the home stretch, I'm finally getting over this sickness, and my mom is serious about letting my go to Oregon for a few weeks this summer. Praise God!
On the down side, I got my cap and gown today. You'd think that would be a good thing right? I suppose it is, except I tried the stuff on and I look like a wannabe angel or a choir girl or something. The cap looks ridiculous. (pictures later, I suppose) I guess its ok, at least I'm going to graduate!
We went to my grandparents the other day:

Being Sick Gives You Time for Thinking...

We are always seeking to see the good in situations now, how will it benefit us immediately? How will it serve us and affect us right now? We can believe we're working for God's glory in everything we do, strive hard to do the right thing, and then fail to see how it brings good to our lives. This can be discouraging. But I've noticed that patience and trust in God's plan is the best. You live a godly life but its not for your own glory, it's all for God's glory. You aren't doing it to reap the benefits, your doing it because its right. Besides, thinking that you have to work your way to heaven is wrong, it lowers God's role in our life. By thinking that we can work our way to heaven we are saying to God, "Your sacrifice was not good enough, I have to help you along and help myself along." If that isn't prideful, I don't know what is...

Every thing that you do where your heart motive is to truly bring glory to God alone, God will bless you for. Whether its on earth or in heaven, he is so willing to give good gifts to those who believe and trust him. Even when a situation seems hard, even when you wonder if its worth it to do the right thing, just remember that God will not forget your trust. It's a great source of joy to work for the glory of God and then later, look back, and see how God used it.

One other thing I want to expand on, God is ready to reward those who bring him glory. Isn't that amazing? We all deserve Hell, but he not only sacrificed his son for us and then he saved us, he now rewards us! He sacrified his only son for his creation and then welcomed us as children. We certainly don't deserve any of this, but because of his unfailing and everlasting love we not only live and breath, but live happily. Knowing that we deserved Hell can make you grateful for anything, can't it? And also knowing that God forgave us is a good motivation to forgive others no matter what they do, not forgiving someone is never justified.

Mercy: not giving us what we do deserve

Grace: giving us what we don't deserve

HOV: Friendships

::Friends affect your soul::
Proverbs 13:20
He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

"Choose friends who will benefit your sould, friends whom you can really respect."

Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds

"If you are a true friend you are more concerned with their soul than their affection..."

"The Gospel gives us the power to be a true friend."

::You will become like the people you hang out with::

生命〔生活〕

"Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards."

"Life is like a library owned by the author. In it are a few books which he wrote himself, but most of them were written for him."

"Do not look where you fell, but where you slipped."

"Obstacles are a natural part of life, just as boulders are a natural part of the course of the river. The river does not complain or get depressed because there are boulders in its path."

It sounds beautiful outside today!!!

Sunday

The Angry Snowman

So.... what really happened Mr. Snowman?

Today was so much fun! First we built snowmen and all that usual stuff and then I took like 200+ pictures (no, not of the same thing!)... Then Clara, Josh Murphy, and I went and got Garrett, Courtney and Evan and we went sledding back behind our house and then had a snowball fight. It was pretty crazy... since Clara and I don't have older brothers we aren't used to tackling and we can't throw a snowball to save our lives but it was still fun. Then I tackled Clara and shoved her face in the snow and as soon as I turned my back she jumped on top of me and I twisted my ankle... haha, I guess thats what happens. It was SO much fun though! Then we came back to our house and had hot chocolate and sat around and talked...

Overall a pretty awesome day. =)

Thursday

Lovely Day!

Good Morning Sunshine

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. -Psalm 5:3
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. - Psalm 90:14
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. -Psalm 143:8

Girls
are like apples
on trees. The best ones
are at the top of the tree.
The boys dont want to reach
for the good ones because they're
afraid of falling and getting hurt.
Instead, they get the rotten apples
from the ground that arent as good, but easy.
So the apples up top think
something wrong with them when in
reality they're amazing.
They just have to wait
for the right boy to come along,
the one who's
brave enough to
climb all
the way
to the top

art show

Happy February 1st! Yesss! the first of the month! it's such a relief, like letting out all your breath after holding it in for a long time. last month was such a crazy and weird month... as my sister puts it "july is gone forever, o wait! i mean january!"

4 more months of school! I'm torn between total happiness and freaking out. But the Lord is good, oh so good!

If you guys would pray for Renee and Nick Palmer, they are going on a missions trip to the Dominican Republic. I think they either went this week or are going really soon.

Yesterday I went to a friends art show, it was pretty cool. Then my sis and I went to starbucks to work on a History paper where we saw Phil, David, and Taylor! Pretty sweet =)

faith

Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
